Gena Pemberton, OHG’s Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, recently spoke on the topic of creating lasting change within our companies—and beyond. “One of the things I like to preach…is that even when you’re in a smaller agency or smaller company, the easy thing you can do is share your stories and talk to each other about who you are and what your background is,” she said. “You will be very surprised at how much you’ll find that you can connect with an individual that you think you never would connect with at all.”

At Snow, we know the power of stories. That makes us uniquely qualified to start the conversations and build the connections needed to create real change. Now, we just need your help. That’s why Snow’s DE&I Council is excited to launch Stories of Change.

What is Stories of Change?

An ongoing initiative providing Snow employees a platform for sharing personal stories, experiences, and perspectives regarding diversity and inclusion. Maybe you’d like to talk about your racial or ethnic identity—what it means to you, why you’re proud of it, and how it impacts your life. Maybe you want to shine a light on discrimination you’ve faced and why it is important to be an advocate for others. Perhaps you want to share a promise of allyship. Whatever your story, we want to hear it.

Here’s how you can share your story:

  • Want to share your story in writing or pre-recorded video? We’re seeking written essays and/or videos for internal publication on the Snow blog.
  • Want to share your story live? We’re seeking participants for virtual, moderated panels.

If you’re interested, please use this form to let us know how you’d like to participate.

If you have any questions about Stories of Change, ideas for creating more conversations, or even if you just don’t know where to start, please reach out to Heather Bridges and Sadron Lampert. We thank you in advance for your courage and compassion, and we look forward to the conversations ahead!
