Born and raised in South Jersey, Nicole Gonzalez has now called Collingswood, NJ home for nearly two decades. Professionally, Nicole has had 11 years of experience as a foster care and adoption social worker. Her favorite part of that work was preserving children’s histories and helping them hold on to their stories. “I was passionate and adamant that these were their stories,” she recalls. “They deserved to know them and have them. Their stories were so important.”

Honor the Story, Empower the Storyteller

That same belief guides her every day at SNOW. Whether she’s connecting with patients one-on-one or helping them share their journeys through Patient Worthy, Nicole’s focus is always the same: honor the story, empower the storyteller. She lives by the motto: “It shouldn’t have to happen to you for it to matter to you.”

When Nicole first joined Snow’s Recruitment team, she immediately recognized something familiar in the work: empathy, listening, trust. “I was honored to lend an ear, to document and ultimately help patients share their stories with others,” she says. Moving to Patient Worthy only deepened that connection. Today, she helps patients translate their experiences into written pieces and video features that inform, comfort, and inspire.

For Nicole, no two stories are alike, and that’s what keeps the work endlessly rewarding. “Each story is unique and impactful, and the job never gets old,” she says. “There are always more stories to tell.”

An Opportunity for Innovation and Creativity

Ask Nicole what she’s most proud of, and she doesn’t hesitate: her team. She was part of the Patient Worthy Recruitment Team from its earliest days, helping bring a bold new idea to life. “When PW RT was first being proposed, it was promised as an opportunity for innovation and creativity,” she says. “It has delivered on that promise.”

To those new to the SNOW team, Nicole would say: “SNOW is unlike any place you’ve ever worked at, in all the best ways! Sure, there are spreadsheets and budgets and deadlines and the inevitable you-never-know-when-it’s-coming-but-it’s-coming fire drill, but it’s also so much more than that. Your co-workers are committed and passionate, and we do it all for the patients we serve. Keep a patient-focused perspective, and the rest will work itself out.”

When the job get’s tough, Nicole is grateful for the supportive team spirit: “Everyone’s willing to pitch in, and everyone has a special knack for finding the perfect GIF when the occasion calls for a stress relieving laugh!”

Attended… how many Phish concerts?!?!

In her private life, Nicole, her husband, and their two kids (14 & 12) are “lowkey obsessed with camping.” They’ve traveled as far north as Maine and as far south has South Carolina. Their next big trips will take them to the Great Smoky Mountains and Niagara Falls/Toronto. She also passionately follows the Philadelphia Eagles (in case you couldn’t guess from the picture above). But there’s an obsession of hers most people don’t know about: She is also a huge fan of the band Phish. Huge! Like, she’s been to over 160 of their shows kind of huge.
